MAINTENANCE TIPS
If you invest in a quality gardening tool or piece of equipment, it’s important that you perform a few simple tasks to look after them appropriately.
1> Always clean your equipment after use to prevent a buildup of grass, dust and debris.
2> Make sure your petrol-powered tools have cooled down before you start cleaning.
3> Clean your petrol-powered machines with a soft brush and warm soapy water. A damp cloth should be sufficient for battery-powered or electrical tools. Be sure the equipment is dry before storing.
4> Never use a high pressure cleaner on products of any kind. This can result in serious damage or embrittlement, and lead to costly repairs.
5> Whenever you’re planning to store any petrol-powered equipment for several months, move to a well-ventilated area and empty the fuel tank. Clean it, and dispose of the fuel correctly.
6> Plus, if you’re storing your chainsaw for more than three months, remove the chain and guide bar, clean them, and spray them with a protective oil or corrosion inhibitor to prevent rust.
7> Any blades (mowers, chainsaws, grass trimmers and so on) should be sharpened annually, and all metal parts kept well lubricated.
