Jean-Francois Jorre de St. Jorre built La Plaine St. André in 1792, naming it after his birthplace in Reunion. The Estate was once home to copra kilns along with cinnamon and patchouli distilleries.
Now it is where the d'Offay family make Takamaka rum, their garden flourishing once again with the many medicinal plants, herbs and fruit trees it was known for.
Rum made from the seychellesbr>br>
We make a rum unlike all others. One from the other side of the rum-making world. To know it is to understand the true nature of the Seychelles. Unspoiled and unbelievably beautiful, Takamaka is made from this unique place, a paradise we all dream we could escape to.
Deep in the Trois Frères Distillery, Takamaka rum is blended, spiced and aged in a uniquely Seychelles way by the D’Offay family.
