The large expanse of Anse Intendance is ranked as one of the most unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean for a very good reason. The wild South-Western located beach is found at the end of a long winding road that is surrounded by beautiful foliage. The encompassing forest breaks off to showcase the beach's true incredible beauty. Encased by large granite formations and shined by the sun, tourists are welcome to walk along the fine, powdery sand and locate a small local bar that provides snacks and cold drinks for all. Depending on your luck, you may be able to find some turtle nesting sites or just spend your time capturing the incredible colors of the ocean and sunset. You can experience this all the while being encapsulated by the peaceful quiet that Mother Nature provides. Keeping in mind of its lack of reef, the crystal clear waters of Intendance can be calm and deep depending on the time of year. On the other half of the year, the large choppy waves make surfing a fun possibility for anyone daring to do so. The beach is also next to the Banyan Tree Hotel that is also within a short walking distance for its guests.
